What makes Guanacastecarrentals.com different? |
We have 7 different locations in Costa Rica where you can rent a car and also, get Quick Responses in case of any emergency. Our prices are often more competitive and our bookings are more accurate. We also have the ability to offer our clients access to One-Way Car Rentals, as well as Off-Airport and At Airport Locations. In addition, you can modify your reservation requesting by email if the need arises. |
Can I make last minute changes to my car rental at the counter when
I pick up my rental car? |
Yes, but you usually get much better rates if you change your reservation in advance by modifying your rental e-mailing us at info@guanacastecarrentals.com. This is very often handy for travellers and will also save you time. |
I want to Pick-Up my car at one location, and Drop-Off the car at another location. What should I do? |
At the time of car rental reservation please provide the correct information about your rental details. Please note that we have 7 locations country wide; It means that you will be able to drop-off the car at any office. Surcharges may apply. |
Can I modify/change/cancel an existing reservation? |
Yes. Guanacastecarrentals.com allows users to modify their existing reservations. Of course, modifications may cause rate changes; but, there is never a fee for a reservation modification. You will need your reservation number and email address to make changes. |
What is your cancellation policy? |
Most of our reservations require a credit card to secure a booking, some do not when it comes from a frequent renter. We require a 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled pick up time to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees are common in high season: From Dec 15th, to April 15th. |
What do I need to rent a car? |
We will require a valid driver’s license and a major credit card in your own name with enough available funds to cover at least the cost of the rental. We also require an additional deposit known as Deductible Protection. A debit card may be acceptable at some locations |
When will I get charged? |
GuanacasteCarRentals.com is able to secure reservations very often without a credit card charge but we will want payment when you arrive at the counter to pick up your car. |
Do you accept debit cards as payment? |
Please keep in mind that we accept credit cards as a payment. What about debit cards? If you already have a reservation with us, it is easy for us to assist you as we have all the details. If you do not have a reservation already, you must provide us with ALL the details (car type, pick up location and whether you are a local renter or not) so we can help. |
Does the rate quoted include all taxes? |
GuanacasteCarRentals.com always shows you the RATE including tax that you must pay either by law or by local policy for the length of a particular car rental request. However, this price does not include optional services such as insurance waivers, special equipment or gasoline etc. It also does not include extra day or hour charges that can result from a late return of the rental car. This price is provided so you can better estimate the total price you may pay to us for your car, but is not a guarantee of your total charges |
What are airport taxes? |
Airport taxes are the fees that the airports charge to car companies for the use of their terminals, railroads, and roads; plus other service charges mandated by the airport. To avoid this tax you must show up at our Counter located just 5 minutes from Liberia and San Jose Airport or, request your shuttle service and we will send one of our representatives with a sign with you name clearly printed on it. |
Can I request special equipment? |
You can request child seats, surf racks, CD players, etc. by emailing us. |
Will I receive the make/model of car I have reserved? |
Guanacastecarrentals.com assures you to get the exact car you requested for. At the time of your arrival if there is not your car selection, we will upgrade your car rental with no cost at all. We Guarantee Your Car Reservation. |
How old do I have to be to rent a car? |

Is there a shuttle service to my rental car? |
GuanacasteCarrentals.com offers shuttle service to the car pick up location from the airport. You will need to ask about this service prior to your arrival and let us know you flight number, arrival time and airline. |
| How can I get the best rates? |
GuanacasteCarRentals.com offers the best rates available at the time you book the car. However, prices fluctuate constantly based on supply and demand, so if you see a better price, you can always modify your reservation to take advantage of the lower price. |
Does my car come with unlimited mileage? |

| Is my credit card information secure? |
All credit card transactions are placed over HTTP/SSL (Secure Socket Layer) ensuring all critical information is well-protected. In addition, after a credit card transaction, GuanacasteCarRentals.com does not store your credit card numbers on our servers. |
